Book Review- Eight Twenty Eight: When Love Didn’t Give Up (7/11)

Eight Twenty EightSometimes, there are things that happens that just change your life completely. This was what happened to author of the book. Larissa Murphy’s (then future) husband, Ian Murphy met an accident one day and things totally changed in an instant.

This book is really the story about the two of them, but it is not just about the two of them. It is also about the Saviour that they both love. This book is very heart warming, it talks about a love that wouldn’t give up. Larissa Murphy retells the story of how they both met, and the courtship that ensue shortly after. Intertwined between the stories she moves between past and present, but mostly writes about the past that has happened.

As you read, you will no doubt see how deeply they love each other. However, you will also be reminded of how much God loves them. Their story shows christians how even when they undergo suffering for reasons unknown to them can be reassured that God knows what He’s doing. Their deep trust in the Saviour gives us an example of how we should trust God not matter what happens in our lives.

This book would most certainty be suitable for those who are married, or who would be marrying soon. Read, and pray that if ever you are called to walk also in these footsteps, you will be able to proclaim still the goodness and greatness of God still.

Rating: 4.5 / 5
