I think it’s hard for anyone to review this book without giving out the plot. So I will keep this short and sweet. The author, John Boyne, is able to write on a very difficult subject and topic yet present it to the children. Boyne very skilfully weaves in the story that youths will find it easy to read, yet for adults who do read this, the will find that this book will help the new generation to learn about a very real problem in history.
This novel is an excellent piece of writing. He is able to elicit the correct feelings as he leads you through the story. Boyne is able to bring the readers to enjoy the story as you flip the pages and finally bring you to the conclusion.
If you have never read or heard about this book, I highly recommend you read it. Although this is poised as a children book, I find that It has been one of the best novels I’ve read for for quite some time. And adults will appreciate it even more.
I highly recommend you skip the film and just read the book, it’s much better read than watched.
